Not too long ago, this trend on social media got my attention about "10 years ago..." people posting highlights, or certain things that stood out a decade ago. So, 2016? Yeah, that was a good year for business as I got Nike as a client the year before. There was Snowpocalypse, or 'SnowCon' which made me skip out on 'LaxCon', aka the U.S. Lacrosse Convention.
But that year had a branding partnership with the former 'MLL', or Major League Lacrosse doing illustrated portraits of certain athletes in action. It was fun having complete control and doing what I did best - Lacrosse Art. I won't really expand on too much description because the work - or art - really speaks for itself.
Below are some of the pieces that I did.
One piece in particular of Casey Powell really got the attention going since he was going to retire from professional lacrosse that year. That piece was acquired by the Florida Launch as a gift to Casey in his last home game. It also got me creative consulting work with a financial services firm in the Miami-area.
The MLL eventually folded, or merged with the PLL - Premier Lacrosse League. To his day, I look back at that experience that helped validate my work, and as a business owner you are always looking for that edge to keep it and most importantly, yourself going.
