I remember getting the email request from the customer about a graduation gift. I usually buckle up when getting those because graduation and end-of-the-season projects as it's a very busy time. I looked at my work calendar and knew that some things we're going to be shifted around. The graduation gift was to be for the starting goalie of SUNY Binghamton's Men's Lacrosse team. And as a goalie, this got my attention real fast.
After getting a bunch of pics to look over, one really stood out. It wasn't an action shot, or a standard goalie stance in the goal waiting for a shot, rather it was a symbolic one - something only goalies would know.
Here are the progress pics:

When it was done it was shipped out to make it for the upcoming Senior Day at Binghamton. After it was given out the mother of the goalie emailed me updating with some pics of the event, along with some exciting news that day from her son, Connor.
25 years ago on this month, I graduated from college. And this piece, along with a lot of graduation pieces that I've done, make me look back at the milestone. I'm honored to have been a part of his, among many others, in a creative outlet that I set out to do as a career. Best of luck to all the grads!
